Infographic: The death of Language

I chose to use the Native American people of Muskogee, which is a native language to the Seminole, Creek, Northern Muskogean, and Maskoki tribes of America. Which is now an endangered language due to the displacement and killing of many Native Americans. There are only 4,200 Muskogean speakers left in the world.

After reviewing the video "Whitewashed: Unmasking the World of Whiteness." Some white American's feel guilty for what their ancestors have done to other races, and some feel no remorse and identify as racist. Everyone in America has to be considered to be immigrants, except for Native Americans. Especially white Americans. Who has ancestors that traveled from Ireland, Scotland, Britain, and other European countries. A great question was asked. "How did your ancestors get turned into white people?" It has to be an opposition in color. For example, Native Americans called "Redskins." Everyone who identify as white has a certain level of privilege and some don't even recognize the level of privilege they have. Some don't even consider how their ancestors dominated and destroyed other cultures and their languages, and how other cultures may view them.

Language is a apart of every cultures tradition and heritage. Without it people loose their identity, my example is hidden in the infographic. Over time generations become less and less concerned with their culture but inclined to the thoughts of the dominate culture. In this case the English language has dominated the world, with over 1.3 Billion speakers in the world we can clearly see the power that was given to the conquers.

In the background of the infographic you see three Native Americans males trying to read an English book. Which depicts the level of defeat to try and learn this language the book is also sideways  which depicts they have no idea how this language is read.

There's also a picture of a truck running other cars of the road which shows the power that the Americans had over the Native Americans to the point they had no choice but to be run over, killed and trampled by the dominate force.

The last picture is a young Native woman with blood covered hands that covers her mouth which depicts the bloodshed and stripping of ones language. To the point there are only 4,200 speakers of the language today.
